Founding principal William H. Harrison will serve as Chair of the 2011 Arthr Ross Awards Jury for the national organization of the Institute of Classical Architecture and Classical America (ICA&CA).
Having served on the board of the national ICA&CA for the past six years, Harrison was bestowed the honor based on his lifelong practice in the classical tradition – his firm now having built work from coast to coast and abroad; his ongoing philanthropic support; and his diligence in growing the organization by establishing the college of chapters.
Established in 1982 by Classical America chairman of the board, Arthur Ross, and its president, Henry Hope Reed, the Arthur Ross Awards were created to recognize and celebrate excellence in the classical tradition. From the beginning, the awards have recognized the achievements and contributions of architects, painters, sculptors, artisans, landscape designers, educators, publishers, patrons, and others dedicated to preserving and advancing the classical tradition.
